Hi, I’m Ishita Nair, welcome to TrimBowl.
This started as a notebook. Actual paper, actual handwriting, recipes I’d tweak every time I made them until they finally tasted like what I had pictured in my head. A friend kept asking me to text her the “real” version of things after seeing half-finished ones online, and eventually I figured I might as well put it somewhere she and anyone else could just find on their own.

That’s really all TrimBowl is. A place where I share the recipes I actually cook, the way I actually cook them, without pretending every dish needs twelve ingredients or a trip to a specialty store to taste good.
What you’ll find here
Mostly everyday food, the kind you make on a regular Tuesday, not just when you’re trying to impress someone. Some of it’s quick, some of it takes a little more time on a lazy Sunday. I try to write recipes the way I wish more recipes were written: clear steps, honest prep times, and no skipped details that leave you guessing halfway through.
I also write about food trends that show up online the viral drinks, the “tricks,” the things everyone’s suddenly doing. I test them myself before I write about them, and I tell you honestly what held up and what didn’t. If something’s mostly hype, I’ll say so instead of stretching it into eight hundred words of vague praise.
A little about me
I’ve always cooked first because I had to, then because I actually started enjoying it, and now because it’s the part of my day I look forward to most. I’m not a trained chef and I’m not a nutritionist, and I won’t pretend to be either. What I am is someone who tests things properly before putting them on this site, reads past the headline before repeating a claim, and would rather tell you a recipe is just okay than oversell it.
When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m usually rearranging my spice shelf for no real reason or convincing myself that tasting counts as a full meal.
Why “TrimBowl”
Because most of what I cook starts and ends in one no fuss, no fifteen dishes to wash after. Just good food, trimmed down to what actually matters.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something here worth making again.
Ishita Nair
